Suunto dive log file format

Does anyone have a program to read the Suunto dive log file and extract it to something else (e.g. Excel or another dive log)

Having had to restore to my dive log, I have found this back-up to be corrupt. I do have an earlier copy but that misses most of last years dives :-(
Obviously I would like to extract what I can from the corrupt file.

Suunto were unable to help.

Any help greatfully received

I have a copy of Suunto Dive manger, version 1.4 demo, just the examples are included, there is an export tab (under file), which allows export as csv file (comma seperated variables) this can be read directly by Excel.

Not sure what the excel sheet shows but they arent my logged dives.

Re: Suunto dive log file format

I've got an older 1.4 version and the newer SDM version. The older version will read the .lbk files and convert them to the newer .sdm file (I think these are the right extensions. They can then be exported to excel via the .CSV extenstion to give graphs of the dive, but not the deco data.

Let me know if any of this is of any help.

Thanks, but it is my current SDL file that is corrupt and cannot be opened.
I was hoping someone out there had managed to unravel the internals, before I have to try and do it.

It might be worth asking in the computer section at www.scubaboard.com

I have unravelled the data format inside the Suunto computer. I'm not sure if the SDL files stores it in the same way, though. You are welcome to this info it will help.
