New Training Syllabus

Having now completed several SDC's and recieved recognition via a small sticker for my Diver record book ,I have now come to notice that with having to do cross over elements of BSAC old training syllabus to the new syllabus and spend more money on a new Diver record book , that the SDC stickers will not fit in the new log book unless side on to the page , thus so restricting the number of SDC stickers that can fit in your log book . Maybe I need to get a life but surly having changed syllabus and record books for divers the BSAC council could at least make sure Certificates and stickers fit in their own design of Log book.

Re: New Training Syllabus

Unfortunately as you have found using the words BSAC and
logical in the same sentence is close to an oxymoron (not
really), but you know what I mean.

The answer to this is quite simple and I would absolutley
expect (or even demand) that BSAC reduce the size of SDC
stickers to fit there new QRB's. They may have done it already
(yes I know, very wishful thinking).

On the same subject I questioned the shop/sales at the show
why they hadnt grasped the marketing opportunity and sold
filofax zip covers to replace the nasty plastic ones on the
QRB. When I mentioned the PADI dive log version they said they
dont look at other organisations!

Logic & BSAC in the same sentence? Not possible!

Re: New Training Syllabus

It's nice ( though shouldn't be ) to know that other people are having similar issues with BSAC , as to sustain a level of mebership maybe the term best Business practices should be introduced by current council and start reviewing what other agencies do to encourage support . Despite very good membership deals with road cover , Holidays and insurance for Kit & liability purposes the attention to smaller details , if they now request members spend additional money on a new training booklet (?20) you expect to recieve something to be proud to produce at a dive site to show your qualifications and not a plastic wallet.
