Student NQIs

Can anyone clarify for me the situation with Full time Students who are NQIs. Do they still have to pay the full membership rate (i.e full wack, minus ?5) or can they get student membership still.

I thought it had changed sometime last year to allow them to still have Student membership.

Thanks

John

Re: Student NQIs

Well, I'm an NQI, and I have student membership.

Incidentally - do I have to tell BSAC when I cease to be a student half way through my membership, or does that cause excessive headaches, in which case I shall just keep quiet.

I'm an OWI and a student, and I paid student rate.
In reality the form asks whether you're a student, whether you're an instructor, and then asks which you want to pay for! Frankly if they tried to charge me more as a student once I did OWI then I wouldn't do OWI, and would encourage others not to too - which I expect is why they don't. Logically it just wouldn't make sense for a 'normal' member's rates to fall when they became instructors, but for student's to increase.

Probably worth mentioning if you're diving a lot between the time you stop being a student and you renew. If anything went pear-shaped they might try to wriggle out of helping you.
