Details

June is often the sunniest month on the West Coast and as many of you know the Sound of Mull has some of the most historical and well known wrecks to dive in the UK. However by being based in Tobermory on the North West side of Mull this trip will give you an opportunity to dive some of the more remote sites outwith the West of the Sound of Mull towards the Inner Hebrides, so you get the best of both worlds!

We will be diving from a quick (26 knots) hard boat SilverSwift ( <a href="http://www.silverswift.co.uk/diving.htm" > <a href="http://www.silverswift.co.uk/diving.htm" >http://www.silverswift.co.uk/diving.htm</a></a>)
The boat and its skipper Paul comes highly recommended plus we used him last year and I do know that Aberdeen Watersports use it throughout the year.

In order to give us the maximum chance of diving every day outwith the Sound itself I have organised a late pick up from Lochaline Dive Center on the Friday evening. This means that we need to leave Aberdeen at 4:30pm in order to have a steady journey across to the West Coast as we need to use the Corran Ferry to get across and drive the approx 50mins down to Lochaline. I suggest we all meet at the Ferry so I can phone Paul (the Skipper) and confirm that we are ready for him to set off and meet us all at Lochaline as we all arrive in convoy.( <a href="http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/corran/corranferry/index.html" > <a href="http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/corran/corranferry/index.html" >http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/corran/corranferry/index.html</a></a>)

Once at Lochaline it takes 45 mins to cross the sound to get to Tobermory where we will stay each night at a cosy B&B in Tobermory right on the water front at Harbour House (01688 302209).
Have a quick look at the view :o) <a href="http://www.tobermory.co.uk/panorama/panorama_tobermory_waterfront.htm" > <a href="http://www.tobermory.co.uk/panorama/panorama_tobermory_waterfront.htm" >http://www.tobermory.co.uk/panorama/panorama_tobermory_waterfront.htm</a></a>

The diving is likely to be as follows;
Saturday, Sunday, Monday: With weather permitting we have the chance of 2 dives west of the Sound returning to Tobermory late afternoon each day. If the weather isnt great or if divers request we can dive the old favourite wrecks in the Sound itself (Hispania, etc)

If the weather is good I hope to get out to Tiree and Coll and possibly the wreck of the Labrador near MacKenzies rock.

Mull is a fab island for non divers to explore,

Costs: ~?25/night for B&B and ?35/diver/day or ?350/boat/day, whichever works out cheapest, we need a min of 8 for the boat, but 10 is probably an ideal number. I have already secured the boat and the Harbour House with a deposit. So I'm looking for a minimum of 8 divers.
Dates: 11-13 June 2005
Experience: Scottish Wreck diving + Sport Diver minimum with recent experience (Most of the diving will be on shipwrecks/walls 25-35m)

Further details are available on the expeditions page of our website.
