Hi i'm going to egypt next year with the family, just wondered if anyone can help me and let me know what sort of kit to take with me? its not a diving holiday that i am going on but i will have one or two dives out there.
I know that you can hire equipment out there, but obviously your own equipment is better.
Also if you have any information on the best dive sites to visit out there.

Plan for at least 2 days diving - none of the centres will take an 'unknown' out to the best sites on a single day of diving. You'll need to do 'local' sites (not bad dives, but not the best) on day 1, and then head off to Ras Mo/Tiran on subsequent day(s).

Personally - when I go to sharm - I just request Tiran day after day. I think it's the best diving sharm can offer. both Jackson and Woodhouse reef I can dive over and over again.

On the Jackson reef dive, you'll be shown a red anemone at about 28m. it's special because it's so red at that depth. i never believed it - until I discovered at 33m depth, and about 5m to the right, another red anemone which just is not quite so red.

Also, if you get a calm day, and get in on the 'back' of Jackson, then your in for a treat!

there are red anemone also around Woodhouse, by satellite reef,,near to the canyon, very red.

Red Sea is quite best of colorful diving place..

When are you going? We (Bury BSAC 0601) are planning a trip to Sharm on around the 20th April.
