Having just returned from a holiday on Lanzarote which involved diving with Island Watersports who are listed in the Travel Club, I feel that I must post some comments about them. They are probably the best dive centre that I have used when just wanting to get wet whilst on holiday.
The whole operation is run very professionally, the equipment is well maintained and it makes a change not use a BCD/Stab that isn't falling apart. The changing area is immaculate and there is even the luxery of hot showers complete with shampoo!
Dives are from Island Divers own RIB and it is big enough to accomodate divers and kit without feeling squashed in. The dive leader is a great guy called Tonin, and although I have dived in Lanzarote on several occasions before, we did some dives that were new to me and some other dives that other centres only do part of (such as diving all the wrecks just outside the harbour rather than just the first two)
This is one of the few organisations that I would recommend, well worth a visit if you are on Lanzarote

Currently in Lanzarote for my second visit to Norm and Tonin of Island Watersports. I can only praise these guys to the heavens for all the time and quality dives they have provided me with.
I first came in Oct 04 ( as a solo traveller) after reading a recommendation in Diver magazine, I simply called up and within about 20 mins, I had flights, accom and dives all booked. Norm met me at the airport, conveyed me to my apartment, next thing, I was picked up next day and it was dive dive dive.... How could i not return!
The actual dive centre itself is first class, I was totally impressed with the quality of equipment and the facilities there were out of this world!! Hot water showers and working loos! Whatever next! The shop stocks a varied supply of all sorts of dive gear so if you have left stuff at home or have a wee malfunction.. youre sorted!
The dives themselves are from a rib berthed at the gorgeous Puerto Calero harbour which is home to some of the islands
spectacular yachts and boats The array of restaurants is diverse on the marina, so even the most discerning of divers palates will be impressed between dives! Cheese and bean baked potato from The Bulldog for me thanx!
The actual guys ( Norm and Tonin) themselves have a wealth of dive experience and have no end of interesting info to impart from marine biology, boat operations, and the usual fun and high jinks take place too.Beware the ritual bucket of cold water over the shower door! They even help you on with your fins on the rib!
I cannot recommend this place enough, so much so.. to Norm and Tons dismay... i will be back!!!
Thanx guys.
