View Full Version : BSAC clubs in Hong Kong
Hi
Does anyone have any inside info on any of the bsac clubs in Hong Kong? I'm going to live there later this year, and would welcome any thoughts on which club might be best to join. - I'm currently Dive Leader, and hopefully will have my OWI certificate by the time I move out there.
Cheers.

Andrew,
You have e-mail. Come and join us for a dive trip when you get here and check us out for yourself. We are an active club with about 50 members and get into the water about twice a month throughout the year in Hong Kong plus a few overseas trips to South East Asian destinations - in the last year we have had trips to visit the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka and the Maldives.

Hi Andrew
As you can see already - there is an interested and active branch out there who were quick to spot your posting. As it happens Tony Marshall (BSAC Vice Chairman designate) and I bumped into Hong Kong branch last September when we briefly visited Mantanani in Borneo. We had friendly discussions with them as well as a couple of dives in very clear water. They are obviously a pretty active group, freindly and lively. So give them a try! - David Dixon.

David,
Thanks for the plug! Shame you couldn't stick around for a couple of days - we met the resident giant reef ray just after you came and went (and I mean GIANT - must be more than 4 feet across and at least 1 foot deep!).
Some photos of our trip can be seen here - http://homepage.mac.com/mandab/scubadiving/PhotoAlbum3.html

Tristan
