Has anyone dived out of Frejus or San Raphael in the south of France? Any place you would recommend or caution against? Many thanks.

Three years ago my wife and I did a day of diving out of Frejus. There is a large rock about 1/2 mile offshore which the local boat seemd drawn to. OK but not wonderful!.

The folowing week we decamped about 40 miles along the coast in the direction of Toulon and found a resort called La Lavendou. There is an excellent dive operator working out of this place and the off shore LaCoix islands are an underwater nature reserve. I'd definately recommend LaLavendou in preference to Frejus. I'd also recommend the dive operator (link included) the French have a most civilised attitude to diving.

Thanks for this info - we sometimes go to the La Lavendou area to see relatives so will certainly check this out. May be tied to Frejus for this year - if you had another minute, did you go out of Port Frejus? With Cip? Were they Ok as an operator? They haven't been returning my email enquiries...
