We have dived there twice now, both times with an excellent organisation called R & Sea Divers, they are based at Crown Point. The owners are Wendy, John and Tracy and they will do everything in their power to make your holiday a success!

Wendy is a master of organising and has contacts for accomodation and will tell you who is doing the best flight deals. They will also organise day trips (or even a couple of nights) at the other end of the island where the diving is surprisingly different.

http://www.rseadivers.com/ take a look at their site and then give Wendy a ring or send an e-mail if you think you like what you see.

We spent our silver wedding anniversary in Tobago and dived a fab. site called Divers Dream on the day - with a flypast from a squadron of Eagle rays and of course the odd turtle or two!

Hi - Tobago is a magic place to dive! I'd base myself in the North! I dived all round the island and found the best areas were the North East on the Atlantic side and the North West on the Carribean side.

My favourite dives:

London Bridge - weather dependant but an amazing dive!

Book Ends - weather dependant again with a zippy drift through to massive rocks.

Picker - great drift dive

Cathedral - very scenic

Flying Reef - great drift dive on the South West Caribbean coast

Hope you have lots of fun ..... beware ... they dive of Pirogues (long wooden fishing boats). There are only a couple of operator that dive with 'Dive Boats'.

Safe diving ... ;o)

We dived Tobago earlier this year. We had read up on [snip] and decided to go with Caribstu who we met at the dive show he provides a personal service. It's a lot more expensive than most but for me and my wife being able to dive on a boat to ourselves was well worth the extra money

Tobago is pretty awesome! All the diving is good with some really good drift dives. I suggest going to Pigeon point whilst your not underwater.

Hi,
Myself and my wife dived Tobago twice a few years ago and had a great time. The divinig was excellent tho not what I would call exceptional. Whilst we were there we saw lots of fish but none of the big stuff by way of mantas, hammerheads etc that are said to be around. Despite that it was really enjoyable and you may be more lucky. I guess it depends what you have done before as to where you would rate it. We dived with 2 different companies out of the Rex Turtle Beach for convenience, both of which had bad press but we are pretty self sufficient as divers and found them more than adequate. Above water tho it is indeed exceptional with lovely people, leatherback turtles nesting on the beach yards from your room, wonderful waterfalls, humming birds at bird feeders, beaches to die for, all the wonders of the rainforest, and the strange event which goes by the name of Sunday School. Happy to give you some hints as to where to go if that helps. One piece of advice given to us which we would pass on is that the beach sellers of day trips are pretty trustworthy and much cheaper than the hotel arrangements. We went with a guy called Woody who ran Woddy's Tours. Dont know if he's still trading but it would be worth checking him out.
Whatever you do, do look on www.mytobago.com which is run by a guy on a non profit basis and contains lots of info, not least it rates the hotels and dive outfits which should be of some help to you.
Hope this helps but let me know if you think I can help further. Have some photo's if interested.
Whatever you choose I think you would have to work hard not to have a great time.
Dave
