All,
BSAC Travel Club is about to set up a special mailbox where you can send us your direct observations/news on conditions in areas affected by the tsunami. Please don't post hearsay - just what you have seen YOURSELF. We will then post relevant updates onto a special News Page where visitors can see reports on diving locations straight from people who have visited and dived there post tsunami.
Obviously, we continue to hear stories in the news media focussing on the horror and human tragedy but increasingly contacts on the ground and returning divers are coming back and telling us that actually resorts and reefs are flourishing and that we would all better support our friends in the Indian Ocean by NOT CANCELLING our travel plans and directly donating our tourist currency straight into the local economies that depend on it.
You have only to read some of the posts on this forum to see this message very clearly.
BSAC Travel Club wish to do all we can to support the diving community and local people in the affected areas whilst continuing to provide the best factual and objective advice for travelling divers. We think this is a good way to achieve this.
So - watch this website - coming very soon! We will post into this thread once the facility is operational. I have updated our news page on the tsunami today.
