View Full Version : Snorkelling in or around Port William Scotland

Hi all,

One of my club members is going to Port William in scotland in a few weeks and was woundering where it was good to go snorkelling.

Any Info much appreciated. :)

Hi Neil,

Do you mean Fort William? There is a Port William Rd in Dumfrieshire, but it's not very famous!

Near to Fort Willliam there are Loch Linnhe and Loch Leven. Both are steep sided lochs, and I daresay there is some fairly good snorkelling in either - certainly the diving is nice.

Another place to go would be Glen Etive - some big fish swimming up the river but it is a river and hence care required!

In which case I suspect that the snorkelling won't be up to that much, as it is mainly boggy estuary type stuff around there from memory. A more local person might know more!
