Just to alert you that we are beginning to publish a huge number of trip reports received in the run up to Christmas - many thanks to all those individual divers and Branches who have made them available to us. We have reorganised the Report Index to make it more user friendly - very necessary now due to the sheer number of reports - and there are still about another 60 to be published. Really pleasingly there are lots of UK ones coming through now, ranging from full on Branch expeds through charter boat day trips and quick shuttles. Keep checking the page as more and more go up over the next month.
We firmly believe that we are gathering the best collection of "tell it like it is" trip reports on the internet - read them before you book!
Keep them flooding in!

Hi Allie,
I feel the country reports (or a link to them) should appear on the same page as the trip reports. If I've read this correctly some readers might miss them altogether.
(I'm updating mine in the next few days)

Hi Dave,
Don't think you can miss either information area really. We want to keep them as linked but seperate areas of information because the type of writing/material/slant is different and it is important that readers realise the difference so they can make their own decision.
The Country/Location pages are our factual, objective information pages written in the style of a guide book. We try to keep as much objectivity into these pages as humanly possible, bearing in mind that "someone" has written them. They contain links - amongst other things - to the relevant trip reports. Trip reports are personal, subjective - no doubt informative - reports written by individuals, giving their opinion on a place. Each trip report links back to the relevant country or location page.
So, the areas of information are pretty closely linked together, but still seperate enough that people aren't likely to become confused as to what they are reading.
So, the information within TC is structured in 3 tiers
1. Country/Location pages - fairly permanent material, objective, facts driven, guidebook style, the main hub for a place
2. Trip Reports - Fairly permanent, growing body of personal opinion written by divers for divers, subjective by its very nature
3. Forum - Quick hit info, ask a question and see what response you get from the community online.
I would like to be able to index relevant forum threads into the country location pages so that on one page you get links to everything relevant to the topic ie the country page and its links, the trip reports and any current threads but.... our technology ain't with it at the moment!!
Hope this makes sense - All the best
Allie
