I am organising a trip to Torquay on the 2/3 October - I have 6 divers confirmed but can take up to 12 in total.

The dive plan will be as follows:

Saturday 2nd October "Galicia": Much broken wreck lying in 17 metres. Home to abundant sea life, including fish, crabs, lobsters and conger eels. A great dive not to be missed!
Thatcher Rock: A rock off the entrance to Tor bay, offering spectacular drift dives. Terrain is similar to the Orestone, with rock giving way to sand at 10 metres.

Sunday 3rd October "Bretagne": Steel steamer sunk in 1918 after collision. Sitting upright in 28 metres. Spare prop and winches still visible. Home to huge shoals of pollack, wrasse and mackerel.

Thurlestone: Sandy beach entry near golf club. Best to unload gear close to beach and then drive to car park. Wreck of ss "Louis Shied", a WW1 casualty, nearby in 10 metres.
OR if people do not want to drive to Thurlestone ( half way between Plymouth and Torquay but should be well worth it) then we could do Babbacombe Bay.
Babbacombe Bay: Well sheltered except from east and north east. Rock and shingle sea bed with sometimes abundant sea life including Basking Sharks, Dolphins, Seals, Wrasse, Cuttlefish, Dogfish & Conger Eels. Max depth 10 metres. Good parking close to entry point. Diver-friendly snack bar, dive shop and air, including O2 clean air, to 300 bar. Babbacombe bay is also where we are launching the boat from so would be an easy way to finish the diving, pack up and leave!

Alternatives include diving the Perrone wreck first thing on Saturday and the Galicia in the afternoon although this depends on tides, for info the Perrone is a Cable ship torpedoed in 1971 and lying on her side in 31 metres and remains standing 8 metres proud. Quite broken but an excellent dive worth more than one visit

If we stick to the plan as stated this would mean 3 boat and one shore dive , boat dives cost 15.00 each so total cost for diving= 45.00
Therefore, diving ( 45) + accommodation (16.22) + petrol ( approx 15.00 if only 4 cars go) + approx 40 food and drink= 116.22
REMEMBER! This is likely to be the last proper dive trip of the season, your chance to finish drills and try something a little more challenging! Contact Becky on: 07766 941 856 asap to book your place!
