Standard Life Dive Club - LIPARI DIVE TRIP SEPTEMBER 2004

Lipari - one of the Beautiful Aeolian Islands off the North East coast of Sicily. Next to Lipari - Stromboli and Vulcano, with active volcanoes.
In my opinion, Lipari is better than Gozo, the current number one mediterranean dive destination. Lipari has deep walls (drop offs to 40,50 metres and beyond), caverns, grottos, reefs, fish, nudibranchs, seahorses, red and black coral.... and underwater fumeroles (little volcanic outlets to you and I).
Depending on experience and personal interests, you can have long, shallow dives or deep diving.

Accommodation will be in the magnificent 4 star Hotel Carasco, one of the worlds top small luxury hotels, perched above the beautiful harbour. Lipari is also perfect for non-diving partners to explore the islands, shop or just laze by the pool. The beautiful village has plenty of small restaurants specialising in fresh seafood and fine Italian cuisine.

In August, Lipari and Stromboli are the playground of the Italian rich and famous - Versace etc all have villas there. In September the prices drop.
Flight Cost
From Edinburgh ?250
From Gatwick ?170
This will be a no change / no refund scheduled flight and will need to be paid on booking.
Hotel Cost
Accommodation at Luxurious Hotel Carasco is ?46 pounds a night per person B&B standard room (sea view window) or ?60 a night for superior (sea view with balcony) - for single occupancy - standard room is ?60 per night (single rooms are at rear of hotel).
20% deposit for hotel is required on booking.
Diving Cost
?105 for 6 dives (?210 for full week's diving or add dives at ?20 a dive)
Transfers
Transfers will be arranged depending on numbers. Taxi or mini bus from Catania Airport to Milazzo and then a 1 hour hydrofoil trip to Lipari. Hydrofoil cost is ?25 return and will be booked and paid for in advance.
