Do you count yourself as a keen UK diver? Can you string two words together? Take a snap with a box brownie? (OOps... that dated me...)

If you answered yes to at least the first two of those questions, we want to hear from you. We're currently piecing together a web based diving resource for the UK. And we need your local knowledge and input.

Frankly, our current situation is an embarrassment.

Imagine, if you will, an overseas diver who is planning a visit to the UK. Or even a UK diver who's going on holiday to another part of the UK. He decides to check out the internet to help him plan where and with whom he might get wet. He decides - quite rightly - that the BSAC is the place to start. UK Governing Body for the Sport.... lots of clubs... lots of divers....

But oh, dear.... Look at our site. Lots of info about diving in Egypt, the Med, even South Africa and the Caribbean. But a very very sad number of dive reports about diving in the UK.

Conclusion drawn by Overseas Diver: It's rubbish diving. They all go overseas. I won't bother - it's Cozumel again this year....

Please, please write up a page or two - 500 words on what its like to dive in your locale. Don't worry about spelling - my computer is good at that. Don't worry about writing great literature - just the facts will be fine. Give us a couple of names of good dive operators, air/gas stations - the odd b&b or restaturant you would recommend if you know any. Tell us a bit about the dives, your friendly dive club if you welcome visitors, hazards to know about. If you can, a couple fo pictures (JPG)- not underwater ones unless they are really unique - we would prefer the launch site, or the beach , or the car park you recommend even.

If you send me a report, I'll send you ?15. You can buy the latest manual with it - or spend it on anything else that takes your fancy in the BSAC shop. Or you can keep it till Dive 2004 and bring it to the stand in Birmingham and get something there. If you send me two, I'll send you ?30 and so on....

I had one yesterday from someone who apologised for not being a member but sent me something because the site had helped them. GREAT! Travel Club is for everyone. We welcome reports from all UK divers.

Thanks

Allie

PS I still want to hear from all you warm water divers out there too! Especially the rich warm water divers who have been to the Pacific.
