Went for a drift dive from Beamaris yesterday. We went passed a buoy anchored to a wreck in our RIB towards Puffin Island near Penmon.

Out of interest can anyone direct me to information as to what this wreck is and whether it can be dived.

Could be the Rothesay Castle wreck. Had a look in Chris Holdens book but for that side of Anglesey I'm awaiting his next book.
I would think you can dive it, but I'm sure your aware to get the tide times right in that area, when it runs it really runs.

Was it the Hoveringham - a large up-side-down dredger on the Anglesey side of the strait at Penmon. Its partly exposed at low water. Its in Whatsit and Scott Watermans book on diving in Anglesey -wreck number one. I probably watched you go past on Sunday - It didnt look a great day for diving.

It looked a bit far out to be exposed at low water though I suppose its possible. The drift dive was good vis 2m, after we went to Puffin Island, that was a bit murky.
