Crikey, that good?
Do you know if the bloom hangs at a particular depth? I'm going out from Shoreham this Sunday and was hoping we could dodge it somehow.

You're lucky - we only had about 1.5m on the Salsette on Monday and that was an improvement on some of the dives over Easter out of Weymouth!
Noticed some of the "green snot" in the water down to about 6m closer in shore, but not the full on "pea soup" effect of when the bloom is in full force.

Interesting! On Sunday we had about 2-3m @ 30m on the Gibbel Hamman out from Lyme Regis, it got a *lot* brighter at 20m when starting the deep stops on the ascent. Later that afternoon we had a cracking 8m+ vis at 20m on the Baygitano - usually reknown for its rubbish vis compared to other local sites!
Something going on at depth maybe?!?!
Vis at Easter from Plymouth on the Scylla & JEL was an unremarkable but reasonable 5-6m.

Easter Sunday saw us on the Greleen (40m and black) and Boma (30m and dark green) with vis at 1-2m at best. No smeg at all, just dark.
Plankton strands in the water at Brixham on Good Friday - viz 1.5 - 2m

I think there is some hiding in the inshore mud off Dover, mid-channel is rather good at the moment though :)
Before Easter we had 2m, last Sunday it was back up to 5-6m in Loch Fyne.

Loads of plankton in the shallows down here, thats why the baskers are showing themselves. Clear as a bell but dark as hell at 62m though.
