Hi Folks

Have a look on the home page, we now have the vBadvanced Gallery and Links Directory. Why? Well I thought that the gallery would be nice for people to post things like club trip photos, it might also be the answer for Buy & Sell. Why not have a dynamic Links Directory - one that you can build into a comprehensive library of diving links.

Have I tried them? Only as a test.
Have I configured them? No, what you see is out-of-the-box.
Am I going to play with them? No, loads more other stuff to do.
Am I going to tailor and configure them? No :) see answer above.

So... anybody fancy having a crack at setting it all up? Just PM me, I'll make you an admin for them, you'll have control over the home page, the links and the gallery. It's called member involvement :D

Cheers

The double slash is fixed but I am still having problems.

Can anyone other than Keith upload to the gallery?

What I am doing
1. Open the gallery
2. Click Upload
3. Click Browse and select a local .jpg
4. Set catagory to Main Gallery
5. Click submit, wait a while
6. Stare at the blank upload.php page :(
8. Click 'go' and the page expires.
7. Go back to the gallery main page and see nowt but Keith's mug shot

Nope. Keith have you CHMOD'd the upload directory on apache? I think it may need something like 777.

EDIT! Seems to work ok now.

Grrrr... there's something screwy going on, I'll check it out. I did CHMOD 777 the upload dir, my uploads worked OK and even as admin I wouldn't have been able to if it wasn't 777. I'll play around with this, check the log files, see if I can track it - sometime... :-D

THUD, THUD, THUD [sound of KL hitting head on desk] - damn thing is set to moderate images but there doesn't seem to be any notification that there are images to moderate! I've verified your image Matt(D), one of the admins needs to have a poke around this feature (it's out-of-the-box) and tune it.

OK, I hope I've turned off the moderation requirement (I hope). It seems fine here!!! Can I ask others to upload something and report back if it DOESN'T work, I just want to make sure that the basic features are working.

Thanks

No joy from here - it's like MattS said. I gave up when I got to the blank upload.php screen the third time. :(

I've tried both the upload page and the quick upload frame - got nowhere with either route.

Keep tweaking things please.

Cheers,
Tristan

Matt/Tristan - email me what you're trying to post please! I'll try running it up using a test account and try to work out WTF is going on :(

Keith,

I've had another go from home and have managed three images. The fourth one won't go! Maybe I've run out of space? It does seem a bit strange to have unlimited storage space. Is this the default? Is there a size limit to the images that will be accepted?

I'll try again later - there's a bug in there somewhere.

Hope you enjoy the photos.

Cheers,
Tristan

Sunset pic (http://www.mssystems.co.uk/diving/pic/vanila1.jpg)

The pic is 125K

Interestingly I can embed the picture in this message, but I can't attach it. Ahh Ok that makes sense when you think about it.

Hi Matt

Thanks, I tried it, I'm going to note it as a bug and then leave it, I simply do not have the time right now. Andy : I've deleted your image as well, the BSAC logo - the thumbnail generation screwed up and gave the red 'x'. We may have to turn the gallery off.

Thanks Purdy. We're having some SERIOUS problems with the Gallery, see here http://new.bsacforum.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=104 there's numerous bugs. I'm doing some software upgrades at the momemnt, that may fix things, that may not.

Sorry about that, we may have to turn it off.
