View Full Version : Snorkling in the UK
hello all,
i stopped diving a couple of years ago after spending more time in the pot than the water.
I'd very much like to be able to get back in the water, but don't seem to find any real interest in snorkling - until now ;).
are there any bsac clubs in the uk that 'do' snorkling and/or are there any good sites on the south coast?
Regards,
Gareth.
Hi gareth ,
there are a few clubs round the uk that do openwater snorkelling , it just depends where in the uk you are . If you get intouch with the Snorkel Adviser for where you live they may be able to point you in the right direction .

Hi Gareth,
If you contact Graham Griffiths on south.sdo@bsac.com, he is the Southern Snorkel Development Officer for the BSAC and will give you all the advice and help you need.

Hi Gareth,
I know how you feel!
I stayed with my Club and developed the Snorkelling section and sometimes go out with them if they are going to an appropriate place for snorkelling.
Downside is that I have to snorkel alone, usually during their SI time but this doesn't worry me. You also learn pretty quickly that dry suits are useless for a snorkeller and sometimes it is just too cold and wet to face the changing that goes with the wearing of wet suits.
If you come up to West of Scotland give us a bell!
Cheers
Carol
thanks for all the infor everyone.
once it gets a little warmer, i'll have a chat with the local clubs that are in the snorkling pages and see how i get on.
Regards,
Gareth.
