View Full Version : Marine Bill White Paper.
Saw this mentioned on another forum...I wonder what is in store?
I notice a mention of 'recreational angling' but no mention of recreational boating nor diving.
Speech made on Thursday by David Milliband.

How are you David
I had a read of the paper, it doesnt really say anything does it.
Typical government hogwash pretending to be dealing with real issues without actually dealing with any issues.
Probably written by someone who earns more in a month than most of us earn in a year, who couldn't care about the environment or anything else except his estates somewhere in Kent.
Ooops sorry I'm rambling again:eek:

It sounds like the Government have burried their heads in the sand again with regard to Marine Reserves. The Marine Bill does not make any provision for the creation of new Marine Reserves despite the overwhelming success of the Lundy Island Reserve.
The benefits of Marine Reserves are proven beyond doubt from the accounts of countries like New Zealand who have over 25 years experience.
There is something we can do to put pressure on the Government by joining the Save Our Seas Team at www.wildlifetrust.org or participating in a Sesearch marine life diving survey run by local wildlife trusts at www.seasearch.org.uk
