I have just booked onto an ERD course for later in the spring and was a little curious as to what software program is used to produce the table/run times for the dives. Do BSAC recomend a program or is it down to the instructors?
Cheers

Proplanner is a commercial one so you pay and it's DOS based.
There is no specific software however any ERD I have been involved with we have shown the students a number of different programmes and shown the features of each one.

Pro planner is also the 'course' deco' software for the new Trimix courses (both CCR & OC).
It's been around quite a while now which gives it something of a track record. In addition, Kevin gave his permission for it to be used on BSAC courses.
The slightly irritating thing is it doesn't produce alternate plans at the push of a button. That said I've happily been using it for years, so I have a degree of confidence in it.
