Keith,

How about a forum to fill boat spaces, I'm not sure it fits in with the buddies bit, we often have a couple of spaces free on club trips, which may be a Hard boat or even the club RIB.

Overall it all looks pretty cool to me, colours blend in nicely to xp, which means it less errrr conspicuous in work;)

Spell check is a good idea!

Gareth.

Hi Gareth

I like you, you don't take the p*ss out of my graphics abilities :)
There is a spell checker available for download, it integrates with IE (I haven't tried it), click the 'ABC Tick' top right of a reply box - let us know how you get on.

Boat spaces : There is a 'Branch Matters' forum in the members section that you can't see, your branch committee will have access to that. Linked into that will be a dedicated calendar that they can post to, boat trips, SDC's, club events or whatever. That then builds into a 'What's On' section that displays on the forums list page.

I haven't set it all up yet but that's my plan, anybody will then be able to see all spaces posted by the branches.

Any way to make 'boat spaces' sort by date and time out the day after they happen? This stops you having to clamber through a pile of trash hoping for some gold.

Default action IIRC. There is the default calendar in here anyway, have a play with that and see what it does.

The only issue with that is it means that if you organise a load of trips in the branch :) and you have a couple of spare places, you have to have a branch commitee member upload it, I suppose you could always post it in the buddies section, as getting a branch commitee member to post might be a challenge :( especially if its at short notice?

I've had a go at uploading an event and it worked for me. The only issue is that with lots of different trips and people filling them, things might get muddled, if theres several events on a day.

Will try the spell checker when i get home at night, work does not like me downloading stuff:)

Gareth.

agree makes more sense that any BSAC member can post/view branch matters - some of our commitee are not computer types

I agree as well it should be open to anyone to post

There may also be people who have been on a committee but are not currently. Who would also have a valid input from previous experience.

OK, sounds reasonable to me. When I set it up I'll enable calendar posts to all BSAC members.
