This is a personal offer not in any official capacity.

I have a copy of a video produced by David Ainsley of Porpoise Dive Charters http://www.sealife-adventures.com/
near Oban that I have converted to DVD format.
The video shows some excellent examples of the fine underwater life that can be found in and around the Firth of Lorne including diving on the Corryvrechan pinnacle.

The area of the Firth of Lorne has been designated as a Special Area of Conservation but there is concern over the continued damage that is being caused in the area from scallop dredging which is damaging not just the seabed but also the rocky reefs that characterise the region.

The offer
I have the agreement from the author of the video to circulate it as widely as possible.
I have 10 copies of the DVD which I will post to the first ten people who contact me by PM with their name and address and agree to the requested promise below.

The catch?
I would simply ask anyone requesting a copy to promise to make further copies (ten?) and circulate them further?
Whether you then choose to do this by making a similar offer as a sub posting to this message or by other means (such as using other Fora such as YD, MCS etc.) I don't really mind as long as it circulates the message as wide as possible.

How do Jim

I have a DVD writer and a box of blank disks, I have never used them before. If you still have one I'll Learn how to duplicate them and distribute around the clubs and shops in the Staffordshire area.

Hi Everyone

Perhaps someone (or more than one) might do a review of the video for the benefit of anyone who has not seen it?

Jim

I got my copy on saturday and already I am "pirating" it. Had serious chat with my local kids and they will start distibuting it in schools as well ;-)
This is great video, with some awsome underwater shots. Only minus is audio that needs some nice music as background, but being privately edited - it is seriously good work!

Hi Jim, I know that you are not around at the moment but if anyone else would send me a copy that would be great!

I can do quite a few copies to pass round as just bought an easy to use recorder, and would be happy to help.

Just email me and I will pass address, deanekingham@tinyworld.co.uk

Thanks in advance,

Dean

Hello Jim, got the dvd today thanks. Great footage and some interesting facts about the dredging. I was thinking have you thought about posting the video on YouTube??

All people would need to do is add the link to any forum, this would make it easier for more people to view. Not everyone would be interested in asking for a copy but would click a link!!

Not sure how easy it would be as have never done it myself, will be making a few copies today and getting them in the post.

Thanks again, Dean :D

I tried copying it but the copy took 40 minutes to get to 5% of creating disk image and then stuck every time. I am sending it to Ben to see if his PC works with it..mine won't play it or copy it for some reason

All

Check the label on the disc, mine was not centralised and caused the video to not play properly if at all.....ripped the label off (which was hanging over the edge of the disc) and no problems.

sorry guys

never even attempted to get a blue peter badge and obviously can't be trusted with sticky back paper let alone plastic!

For future reference I don't do colouring in either just to avoid being accused of going over the edges:p
