View Full Version : prescription lens needed
Unfortunately I'm loosing my near vision as I age and now wear varifocals most of the time.
I use Mares X-vision masks . Can these take prescription lens and where is the best place to have lens fitted.
How much will it cost.
I've tried stick-on plastic lens - they work OK but tend to float off during mask clears etc.
My eyes arent terrible but the gauges are blurry and my arms arent long enough to get them into focus anymore.

Hi Jules
Yes the X-vision does take prescription lenses. They range from -1 to -7, and +1.5 to +3.
Your LDS should be able to help. Or check the Mares website for your local authorised dealer (http://www.mares.com/dealers.php?country=GB&continent=4&type=dealers®ion=ALL).
The mask will cost around £35, the lenses about £30. It's a quick and easy job for your LDS to fit them.
Let me know if you have any problems

Not forgetting to make sure you keep the original glass inserts.
Thanks for the info. I'll right on it.
