I've agreed to help sort a club liveboard trip for later on this year we've desided on going back to the northern Red sea for either the get wrecked or wrecked and reef tours. the last time we went was with emperor admittedly we couldn't fault it. But i'm would appreciate any feedback on other liveboards operators to look at. I already have info on TB. Oh and at the moment there's 10 people wishing to go. Ta

Hi,

Paul Watts of Cadsac http://www.cadsac.co.uk/ is on this forum. He has worked out an arrangement with a boat owner direct and is able to arrange a couple of branch trips a year at amazing prices. I'm not sure how he goes about it, but this type of arrangement may be of interest to you.

Well Tony Backhurst would get my vote any day. Always had good service from the company, he has IMO the best boats.

In 2004 I joined a group and we booked through Diving World on Deep Blue we got bumped off a week before, in the end I think we got a better holiday diving from Royal Emperor because of the relaxed attitude of the dive guide but that isn't the point, I would never book with DW again.

Have been on both Sea Serpent fleet and Tornado boats and there isn't much between then, stick with them and you will have a good trip.

Sea Serpent boats booked through TB now offer FREE nitrox.

try M/V "Orchid" of the Flowers of Sinai fleet - you cant book them direct as they have an exclusive arrangement with Goldenjoy however the crew are great especially one Egyptian nutter called Tita.

The boat only takes 12/13 max and was refurbished last year; it means less crowding if your on a dive site on your own; which admittedly is not that often on some of the more popular sites - the advantage is that with a couple more you would have the whole boat just for you and your club

I got a great deal with them but thats because I booked as a late joiner on a Thursday before leaving on the Saturday

We've been using the same boat for about 10 trips, nice boat, 10 crew to 18 guests, all cabins have aircon, en suit and fridges.

Always had A1 service and great trips. Used them for Northern wrecks, Southern as well as Brothers.

If you would like some info PM me.

What kind of price range are you looking at? Budget end ("once you're in the water it's all the same") or the expensive end ("oooh look a swimming pool on the sun deck... but where's the fish?").

We go with the first option - last year (December) we did a Northern Wreck Tour with Emperor / Regal (on Golden One), cost about £530 each but that was a group booking (24 of us!). Really good though, if you've done the "normal" tours before its nice to have something that little bit different - the few extra wrecks do (in my opinion) keep a bit more variety going. The year before we were with someone else (can't remember who) and we ended up on a crappy little boat with a crap dive guide who wouldn't take us across to Ghiannis D etc from the Sharm side of the shipping channel. Wasn't impressed!

Even if you don't like wrecks, most people preferred the wreck tour... and its still half reefs anyway.
