View Full Version : Dry Dive
Hi,
I am trying to organise a dry dive in a decompression chamber. I know some people who did it about 8 years ago at Preston Police HQ but can not seem to find any sort of contact- other than emergency numbers. Has anybody done it recently?
Cheers

Hi Mike,
These (http://www.ukdiving.co.uk/information/hyperbaric.htm#prest) are the details I could find, a few more telephone numbers there.

Or alternatively try http://www.ukdiving.co.uk/information/hyperbaric.htm#prest
(Sorry Adrian could not resist :D )
Anyone got a link to the definitions of the different chamber types?

Done both Preston Police HQ (Hutton) and more recently the Murrayfield centre on the Wirral (back in 2005 from memory). You can find the details in Adrian's link above.
The bloke that did the talk at Murrayfield, I think it was Dave Abrams, was absolutely superb :) Its well worth a visit:D :D

Thanks for all the replies. I have got some dates and booking info from the one in the Wirral. So hopefully we should be making a trip there soon.

Wirral/Murrayfield (North West Emergency Hyperbaric Unit) is well worth a visit. They are a Cox 1 Category chamber, not many of them about, which means that they can take unconcious patients and treat them. (This is quite a complicated procedure).
I spent some time at Wirral following the staff for a story in 990 Magazine (1999 December/2000 January) and they are incredibly gentle, caring staff, backed up excellent hyperbaric knowledge.
Their dry dives are very educational and a lot of fun. I believe that they are also exhibiting at LIDS. I hope that you and your group have an excellent day.
