How can they draw any conclusions from a cohort of only 7 divers?

I daresay they don't - I've read a paper from the same guys where they use another tiny sample, looking at something else. The idea is as a prototype for a further study if they see if anything is interesting, but the University PR department will have found it and spun it as hard as they could.
