View Full Version : Scilly Isles 2006 - Spaces on trip
HI
I'm organising an expedition to the Scillies 5-12 August 2006.
Some spaces available. Cost: £540 based on 10 (hopefully will get 12, in which case would be cheaper than stated here). £50 deposit to secure a place, then £200 end Feb 2006, the remainder in early July 2006. Non-profit for me, deposits non-refundable.
Liveaboard. MV Maureen of Dart. Full board + air. Nitrox available extra. Departs from Dartmouth.
Most diving up to Sports Diver range.
We're a nice group
Hope to hear from you

Don't fight too hard to get the final pair. MoD is, IMHO of course, a fraction too small to comfortably house 12 people. The saloon in particular is too small, and leads to fraught mealtimes.
Hi Nick
well, all I can say is have spoken to both Mike and Penny, who were both lovely and very helpful. Have never used their boat before, but it has come highly recommended from many and varied sources as I have made my enquiries. I have some photos of the saloon if you want me to send them?
Looks to me like a fairly average UK liveaboard size. There are a few boats out there to spoil you for space and I have had the immense pleasure of one in particular, but they are in the minority. Perhaps you may prefer foreign luxury liveaboards? I too like my 5* lifestyle. Hotels, restaurants, opera etc. However when diving in the UK, until i can afford my own massive, sturdy, steel-hulled boat for my pleasure, i am content to go with people who fall over themselves to be helpful, who come highly recommended from various sources, and who i think i might enjoy spending a week with!
Thanks for your thoughts though
Hazel
MoD is a great boat to dive from. Over the years I've used her a lot. Mike Penny & Giles do know their stuff.
One thing, don't expect to loose any weight, the foods fantastic. The Ham & Chicken Pie is infamous.
I haven't done the Scillies, I prefer the Channel Islands, have a great week. I keep trying to work out if your trip clashes with anything I've got booked!

Boat and crew is absolute 1st class. Because of quality and quantity of the food, you may well find that there is less space at the end of the trip than at the beginning:D
Fond memories of watching "Shaun of the Dead" at 2.00 am during a very rough crossing of the channel last year. Nervous laughter from all concerned:(
Hi guys
Only 3 spaces left now.
First come first served!!!!!
This is going to be a great trip.:D
And down to the last 2 spaces.........................
