Jeff

I am interested in your relationship with the people offering the jobs, are you some sort of agent or just someone posting information about jobs which are advertised elsewhere.

From what I have read elsewhere there are very few non Ecuadorians working in the area.

He was asked by Ben Panter to stop advertising yesterday afternoon!

Dear Forum,

Thanks for all the positive feedback........?

I was just keen to outline a thread which hopefully helped divers who use the BSAC forum to expand their work/diving experience.

I started the Blog as a bit of a past time to still keep my hand in the diving community.....but it just gets slapped by people who are perhaps a little jealous that the jobs I have posted are not totally BSAC related.......!

You all seem an arguementative bunch, so long live the freedom of Scuba diving, and long live www.divejobsworldwide.blogspot.com

I will now up sticks and take my tail between my legs, and go and set my stall up on someone elses forum.

Anyway thanks for all the traffic this has created to the site, I am still posting jobs in the dive industry on a regular basis, and hope I have helped even one person get a good job in the industry.....! My door is always open to divers young - old, PADI or SSI, so PLAY NICE.

You want feed back, here's some;

Businesses are welcome to post the jobs they have available. Any member using our site for repeatedly advertising their own site is very likely to find themselves banned, you would not be the first. You may enter a link in our Links Directory.

If you wish to pay to advertise, that is another matter.

Is that clear?

Adrian

Surely we are all trying to work in the same direction for the same aim? I'm grateful, as an instructor, for anyone putting jobs out there. There are so many instructors and so few jobs......... Why does it always have to come back to someone having to pay?

Seems a shame that Jeff got it up the **** for trying to help out out of work divers like myself. The dive jobs that are advertised online are far and few between so thanks for trying to help Jeff.

Seems a shame that Jeff got it .......

Excuse me, but I'd rather not read such a crude turn of phrase or colourful language on this Forum please. And I'd be most grateful if you could bear that in mind for future posts. Now don't get me wrong, I am not a swooning Dame. I can and do swear when and where it is appropriate, but please, let's have a little more thought, some restraint or atleast **** in your posts.

I was just keen to outline a thread which hopefully helped divers who use the BSAC forum to expand their work/diving experience.

Nothing wrong with this and as a Professional Instructor I welcome knowing about potential work. However, the way this Forum works is that it doesn't tend to do blatant advertising. The Mods are v. good in that they do let certain posts through like the original post that started this thread with the aim that the poster is not going to just advertise their services, but actually contribute something else to this Forum.

.....but it just gets slapped by people who are perhaps a little jealous that the jobs I have posted are not totally BSAC related.......!

Wrong! I can say hand on heart that I don't think that there is anyone on this Forum that will slap down a post because they are jealous. And it doesn't matter that the jobs might not be specificially BSAC related as there are many hybrid divers posting on this site, that it may well be of interest. This is a well mannered, polite, helpful, constructive Forum. Please treat it with the respect it deserves.

You all seem an arguementative bunch......so I will now up sticks and............go and set my stall up on someone elses forum.

Not really. We have our moments occasionally. However you will find that the BSAC Forums are exceptionally well moderated by a capable and cohesive team who use their intelligence and the lightest of touches on the threads, and we the members know that. Hence blatant advertising and trolling is not welcome here. The result is a great, well balanced Forum and we benefit from good threads, patient members who answer the same questions over and over again, and sometimes a little frivolity too.

Before closing there is one thing you need to consider. The Diving Industry is small. So is the Commercia Diving Industry. People talk. Word gets around. If you want to become a Commerical, it's time to start winning friends and influencing people because it's not all down to your quals. You might have the right tickets, but if your face doesn't fit, and your rep. has gone before you, you won't get the job.
