GPRS card in laptop, using Orange as service provider

Can connect to YD and RBW

However, BSAC Forums come up with a warning saying that the site is restricted/unsuitable - have clicked the option to request a review, but no response as yet

Ant ideas from the BSAC webgurus???

Maybe have a go at using one of the non-default styles? In the very bottom left of the screen you'll see a drop down box... have a go with some of those and see if it helps.

I've been accused of having a tiny mind, but ant ideas? :D

Could Orange be making some kind of prior judgement on material? We do nothing special AFAIK. I'd be interested in why Orange have an issue.

Hi,

I also had this problem and twice they confirmed it is an adult site, without listening to me.

Solution: I rang 150 and logged it as a connection problem and within an hour the safeguard had been turned off.

Ah, but the problem is, that its a works laptop & I'd have to that via our ISG - would require LOTS of forms, requests, tickets...

Hi Nick,

But it's the phone (Orange) that you need to get the changes done, not the Laptop, however, if you are on about a works phone ...

Secondly, I keeping with most companies today, my work don't allow any personal usage of IT, as they don't want to get stung with Tax by providing Benefit-in-Kind facilities.

Hi Nick

As Edward indicates Orange are doing the blocking and so hold the key as it were.

If you can provide an e-mail contact at Orange I am quite happy to request they remove the site from their restricted list.

Of course if it is a work mobile phone (GPRS card, same thing), then Orange may offer a service to block anything non-work related whcih your company might have signed up to...

No - I can get access to hotmail, YD, RBW - just BSAC that gets rejected!

Recd an SMS msg to the G3 card in my laptop - fluke that I read it, but basically the msg from Orange says taht BSAC has been determined not to be an adult site so access has been granted

1. Not tried it yet
2. Don't know whether this is specific to me as a user or that this is "general"

Prehaps it was all those references to rubber suits & general woz comments that caused the vetting software a heart attack:) :) :) ;)
