Hi.

Just wondering.

Does your club have a common renewal date for all your members bsac subs, or are they ad-hock being the date they personally joined the bsac.

We have just gone over to a CRD and it has made the branch admin side a lot easier.

Would it work in your branch?.

Is it easier for HQ?.

Hi Ray

No we do not have a common renewal date, we use the date when they join as the anniversary.

Admin is not that hard and it helps provide regular cashflow.

We looked at it a while back, and decided that it was no easier than what we do now.

We have a common renewal date...and over 90 members.......so quite a lot of work concentrated over a couple of months...but then its done for the year...although there are always a lot of 'late' payers so it does drag on a bit.

The downside for us is that the CRD is 1st November so people are starting to think about Christmas and a £43 'present' to BSAC is necessarily a high priority at this time of year.

We have just started accepting monthly standing orders for club subs.....but that's another story and we'll see how it goes!

Yes, we also have a CRD of 1 April. Seems to work well, and the branch treasurer is really good a chasing people up for subs.

I don't beleive it is that difficult to alter your CRD...just pay for 50% at next renewal and your CRD becomes April 1st (6 months after Nov 1st)

There may be some clause that states that you may have to pay 18 months (something to do with buying annual insurance cover with only a 6 month subscription?). However ...if people would rather change it ..it is not an insurmountable problem.

Just call Membership at HQ (or write to them at membership@bsac.com) for more details.
