View Full Version : Mares MR12 Proton Metal
I have just purchased this reg and while reading through the manual it has stated that the reg was designed for compressed air and it is dangerous to use enriched air with this reg. As this is the first reg that I have ever bought from new I wondered is that just standard text or have I bought I reg that I can’t use Nitrox with?
Anyone advise?
Cheers

Hi Daron,
If the first stage contains titanium components then no, nitrox may not be compatible.:(
However most regs (i.e. without titanium) are compatible with nitrox up to 40% as standard.:)
Probably best to check with where you bought it from.
If it's not compatible and you do want to use nitrox, then I'd say you'd have a fair case for getting it exchanged or refunded as it's not up to the job you require it to do.
Hope this helps,
Cheers,
Mark.
