View Full Version : Depressed fracture of the skull - can I dive?
hi i wonder can anyone help ive been diving now for six months (ocean diver)but ive been told that i shouldnot be diving as 20 years ago i had a depressed fracture of the skull now i know that my skull as repaired perfect but for a small dent to the left hand side off my forehead which the doctors after a few years told me it had heeled as good as new but this nurse as told me that i should not be diving i think i will have to see my gp but another advice will be great thanks kev

I would not bother seeing your GP as most of them know sweet FA about diving.
I presume when you started you did a medical self declaration? If you did and it did not show up anything funny you are probably OK but if you want to get it confirmed by someone that knows what they are talking about the best bet is to ring your local medical referee and discuss it with them as they actually understand the risks, see below for a list and contact details

I had a depressed skull fracture years ago and still have a couple of dents left. No problems diving at all but I would get a diving doc to check you out just in case.
