For a number of divers the end of September marks packing the drysuit and kit away for the "winter". The Farne Islands do in fact offer some outstanding diving all year round and the best seal diving is to be found from October to December!... when most divers are long gone.
Due to work commitments I have not been able to organise formal group diving off the Farnes this year however, any clubs or established groups (minimum number will be 8 divers / maximum 14 divers) wishing to dive at the Farne Islands in NOVEMBER & DECEMBER, subject to weather conditions can contact me on bburville@hotmail.com or reply via BSAC personal message.
Diving will be done over weekends (usually just the Saturday). A hard boat will be used for all diving activities with all monies direct to the skipper.
Sadly these trips will not be for individual divers and are available only to clubs/ groups.
I will give a comprehensive brief on the seals at each location and what to expect when underwater in terms of how best to get close to these animals and the underwater topography at each site.
(Several new seal sites have been dived recently with very promising encounters!)

All divers will be responsible for their own safety and marshalling. A nominated dive marshall from the club /group will be required for all dives.
To clarify, my role is strictly limited to helping select dive sites in discussion with the skipper and the nominated dive marshall, providing a brief as outlined above and ensuring that divers get as close to the seals as possible.
On occassion if divers have not seen seals up close underwater I will lead short encounter dives.

In the event of any medical problems I will of course provide assistance as a doctor, but all diving safety issues for the club or party are a matter for the dive marshall nominated by the club/group.
The booking for trips will be done directly between the club / group and the skipper.
Safe diving & best wishes,
Ben.
