Hi,

I have a well needed holiday booked for a week in November in Kikimbala Kenya, (which is near to Mobassa)

4 of us are going myself and my uncle are both divers I am Padi Open water and he is PADI AOW, I have joined a BSAC Club and am in the process of crossing over. so will be working towards Sports Diver (not sure how long it will take or if I will have completed this by November)

Anyway was just looking for some advice from anyone who has dived Kenya. good sites, dive centres etc.. also will I get away with my 3mm shortie?

Also is Kenya seasonal?
(Not so much in temperature but in marine life)

Was out there 3 years ago in december and i was diving in a 2mm shortie with some of the group in t-shirt and shorts. We were told that there was a chance of seeing whale sharks but we were always in the wrong place at the right time.

We dived with Peponi Divers (http://www.peponidivers.ch/gb1.html) which was a short walk along the beach from the hotel. Very helpful and good knowledge of the dive site but there idea of a wall dive was more of a sloping sand bank that went down to 30m. Not much for the wreak junkie but the night dives are one of the best to go for.

Hi
We've got a lot of info on diving Kenya here

http://www.bsactravelclub.co.uk/where/kenya.htm

There is also a diver trip report accessed from this page and a Diver article too - look down the right hand side for links.

There is seasonality in that in the early summer, the rivers can flood and bring very bad visibility to the coastal areas but that won't affect you in November.

Would very much like a trip report from you when you get back so that I can publish it with the rest of our collection

Have a great time
