View Full Version : Guernsey, Sark - Channel Islands
I just read an archive record on someone having trouble finding information about diving in the Channel Islands.
I have only been diving just over a year, almost completed my Dive Leader and done 100+ dives around the Channel Islands, Egypt, Europe and more recently the South Coast of England.
Sark has some fantastic diving opportunities and the viz has always been excellent. We are fortunate in having a very friendly skipper who also runs some lovely self catering thatched cottage accommodation.
I have a group of UK friends coming over to Guernsey and travelling to Sark this weekend, so fingers crossed we will get some good weather and they can go back with good reports about the Channel Islands.
If anyone would like information about diving in Guernsey and/or Sark, then I would be more than happy to help.

Have a look on the BSAC Travel Club website, you will find a fairly detailed article on Channel Isles diving in which I have described a number of sites from Guernsey, Sark, Jersey and St. Malo.

havnt got the link handy but our club mag on our website has a write up on Sark diving
Great place and excellent diving - would love to go back
Have organised this weekend a dive trip with some of our club members and pals from the UK. Yes, the diving is excellent and the island is a small jewell in the Channel. Fingers crossed for good weather and viz.

Page 12 here (http://www.croydonbsac.com/Newsletter/MuddyPuddleSept2005.pdf) and go here for some pics (http://www.croydonbsac.com/Gallery/Sark2005.htm). Absolutely brilliant diving, highly recommended.

Hi
I may be travelling to Guernsey for work in late May next year. Do you know of any organisations there who could organise some diving for me and my buddy? We'd probably need to hire kit as my luggage allowance will be taken up with work stuff, and either pay for boat diving or get some information on shore diving.
Cheers
You could try Dive Guernsey in St Peter Port - http://www.diveguernsey.co.uk/ - not used them personally, but have had air fills from there when Sark Diving's compressor packed in a couple of years ago
Andy from Sark Diving's compressor (he has 2 and a booster) is very much alive and working
Our club went back this Summer and the compressor's were working fine - and Andy's fills and service were first class as always (he does Nitrox and can get He in with prior notice)
Here is a report written by one of our club members for last year's trip

Sorry, not clear in my first post - it only packed in for a couple of days. We have also been back and had good diving and air with Andy since :)
