I was searching around the web looking for an annual insurance policy to cover a few holidays abroad I have planned over the next 12 months. The DAN website had some good looking policies and this made me wonder.
If I was only diving in the UK would it still be worthwhile to take out an insurance policy??

Probably not the DAN style policy as the costs it is designed to cover are the responsibility of the NHS.
But you might want to consider any other losses you would have if involved with an incident, for instance
Third party liability (Covered by BSAC membership)
Loss of kit
Loss of earnings if forced to be off work due to an injury
Loss of quality of life due to long term injury or incapacity
Requirements of dependants
