View Full Version : Space Cadets
Did anyone else see this the other night on c4?
Are these folk really that stupid or are c4 having us on that they think that we think that they think they are going in to space?
gogs
that they think that we think that they think they
Erm... :D
Actually I saw it, I wouldn't have bothered normally but SWMBO (if I want to dive again) wanted to give it a go and, as reality TV goes, I found it surprisingly entertaining.
It is amazing to think that some people can be fooled into believing that the laws of space travel don't have to apply and they are in fact fit enough to be sent into space.
The Russian jeep also had a Czechoslovakian Air force roundel on the side but I guess the producers had 'screened out' that sort of knowledge from the contestants.
And as for the planted 'actors' - shesh. Anyway I hope it doesn’t go on too long because but as things stand I can probably endue a bit more for the sake of my diving.

Are these folk really that stupid I must admit that I watched it and I found it very interesting! Not for what it was, the concept - but for the techniques that they used and the lengths that they had to go to in order to pre-select people who might actually be stupid enough to fall for it :D

I found it quite entertaining, and yes the lengths they have gone to to fine the gullible is quite amazing
Especially as the "Russian" helicopter had a UK civilian registration mark on it!
but then again, maybe I am an anorak and they are not?

The initials on the main logo
S.T.A.R
Well that would be
C.T.A.P
in Cyrillic.
I guess my 9 months working in Mocba would have excluded me.

Looking at the contestants I reckon the ability to read and write would have had you excluded........... :D

One small step? springs to mind. Did they really go then or was it just an aircraft hanger in new mexico?
Yes, they really went to the moon. I know this for a fact because I have seen a sample of moon rock. And I know for a fact that it was moon rock because it had a label stating "Genuine Moon Rock". QED.

Did it have 'Moon' written all the way through it?
My Missus reckons it's all a big con to the public.
She is certain that the Guy with big hair (alledged spark) is an actor, & has seen him in a commercial.
It could be true, nobody is that gullible - surely

Oh I think you will find they are :DI'm with Graham on this one, I have been for some time :) The hoax is on the viewer and not the "cadets", all bit part actors I think you will find. IMHO we are the ones who are supposed to be conned  Nothing adds up - do you honestly think that the TV executives would risk a project on this (alledged) scale to possibly have it blown out-of-the-water in week 1? Let's assume that it's recorded - then where is the tabloid hounding of of the "cadets" and the "inside story" on the facilities? My vote is on them trying to hoax the viewers, nobody else.

It's just another load of old tosh that passes for TV entertainment nowadays.
The fact that Johnnie Vaughan is in it should give you a clue.
Sheesh. :(
Put it in the bin, http://www.bsacforum.co.uk/forums/images/icons/icon13.gif along with "Big Brother", "Pop Idol", "The X Factor" (Should that be the F Factor?), "I'm a Golddigger, get me out of here", and all the others.
Oh, and that other one...... Oh yes.
"Celebrity Stool Examinations". I kid you not.
Celebrities have enemas and we have to guess what's in them.
Isn't life grand.
Thank goodness for Little Britain. :D
Mind you, I'd like to watch those smarmy gits Ant and Dec be made to eat Bush Tucker food on their Saturday Night show.
It's almost worth a petition......

Every now and again I'm very glad that I can't get UK TV here in Germany! (Although I suppose it just gets replaced by forum addiction....)
