First of all I'm shaking as I write this so please forgive any typos/grammar errors.

Secondly I have no idea where to post this - under my first "hello" thread or in the medical place or where - so I'm popping it here for all to see!!!


Okay the reason for all the jumping up and down and screaming is:

*** I have just called the Doc and he is happy to sign off my medical form!!!! ***

I am sooooooo happy!!
He has basically said because I am asthmatic related to not dive during the peak hayfever season!!!

Great news!
If you're out at sea in a boat the 'hayfever/pollen' aspect should be lessened, plus the air you're breathing underwater will be filtered so it shouldn't contain anything to affect your hayfever whilst you're diving.
That's the generally accepted view, but I'm not a doctor of course.

:) thanks guys. I am still bouncing round the room, MrD knows about the medical form (in that whatever I have planned needs one) and knew that I needed to phone a doctor, but he has no idea of the implications or why I'm so ecstatic!

The next step is to find a branch to join - I have contacted four or five and have heard back from one. Then once I've done that I think I'm going to book me in for a try dive (MrD has already done a dive on holiday so has already experienced it.) THEN I'll "book" (or whatever you do) the training which I am still hoping to be Jan 07.

The hard part in all of this is the surprise element - I really want this to be our christmas present and therefore want it to be a surprise, but I am really struggling keep my gob shut and not telling him (hence why I came on here and posted straight away) and I have no idea how I'd be able to stop telling him about a try dive!!
