View Full Version : Where do fins live on a Rib

Howdy all, many thanks for the useful input on the Rib deck layout thread!

Another question then, assuming your gear is all kitted up, where do the fins live? Our last boat had a fin rack on top of the tank rack, which was ridiculously annoying, as if you put fins in here before tanks, you couldn't put tanks in easily.

I think it's probably a good idea to keep the anchor locker clear in the bow, so where does that leave goody bags to live?

Any bright ideas?

Cheers,

Depending on the exact RIB layout / size, you might find there is space infront of the console without blocking the anchor locker. Alternatively, in smaller RIBs we tend to stick them down by the side of the console.

In our club fins etc. normally go in mesh bags piled at the front.
They do block the anchor locker, but this is rarely a problem, we can move them quickly aft when we need to and get at stuff in the front.

Generally we want weight forward and small or light stuff bagged up so
it can't fly away, this seems work for us.

Weightbelts in a crate in behind the O2 Kit, which is behind the anchor box.
Fins, goggles and other stuff in bags on top of this.
