It's been a few years since I launched a rib at Little Haven, Pembroke. Is there anything that I need to know? Is there now a charge, maybe? boatlaunch.co.uk says an alternative is at Dale. Anyone familiar with this slip?

We used Dale 4 or so years ago. Long and narrow so a bit of fun reversing. A small one way system too as you enter/leave the road to the slip. Not usually a problem, but there are always twats who park reducing turning space.

Rather than use Dale
More and more of the clubs that use this area regularly are now lauching in Gelliswick
PROS
Wider slip
Less congestion
Fewer clowns
Free parking
less of a problem on low water (but not perfect)
CONS
No Cafe
No pontoon

All,
Now back from Pembrokeshire. We launched at Little Haven, Dale and Gelliswick.
Now how much do you think it was for the use of Little Haven slip? Bear in mind that someone said that the collection of launch fees has been "privatised".
Well, the story is, we appeared on the first day of a 3 day stay to find it costs £50 for a commercial boat or club rib for the season, but only £10 for a single launch of a private boat. We hadn't read the notice properly and once we started to chat to the nice lady who was collecting the money, we couldn't backtrack and say it was a private rib.
Unfortunately the weather and wind was such for the next two days that we launched elsewhere, resulting in a one off use at Little Haven of £50. Others may wish to take note!!!
Just to say the advice to use Gelliswick was spot on. We asked at the yacht club out of courtesy and they just said go ahead. Free. Parking on the road. Brill.
