Try launching at Conway instead - follow signs for Marina from the A55 just after the tunnel, then turn left at the mini roundabout. The road runs round the outside of the marina to a car park reserved for boats and trailers. Think it costs a few quid to launch and park.
Watch out for the current just off the slip - 4 or 5 knots quite common on ebb and flood. Using the slip will add 25 - 30 minutes transit for sites off the east of Anglesey compared to alunching from the island itself. There's a jetty at the site as well, accessable at all states of the tide.

We dive off Anglesey quite a bit and the council guy's who collect the money to launch tend to check who's landing on the beach during the day and have been getting people to cough up even if they've launched before they arrived (8 am) or elsewhere unless the can prove that they've paid !

In the case of big REDS Bash, I have agreed a deal with Anglesey Council that the boats have to register at a cost of £13 for the year, and launching will be free for the event over the weekend.

Therefore the scare mongering with regards to costs are not an issue. They are also reserving us parking places at the slips specifically for our transport vehicles.

Yes Adrian but it was posted in the Big REDS Bash section.

Had it been posted in a general forum then it would have been as you said aimed at the local branches wishing to dive there.

As I've said for this particular event I've agreed a great deal of concessions from the council, and thank their co-operation.

A shame you did not publicise this information beforehand.

My post was put there as it had immediate relevance for those who would be bringing boats for the bash. If you had forwarded the concession info privately then fine, but how on earth are the rest of us supposed to know? Your update of the same day did not even mention this.

The forums are a fine method of dissipating information, but if you chose to keep relevant information private do not be surprised if others publish something you don't like.

They are given updates and also spoken to by phone.

Again, if you had anything of relevence it would have been prudent to email me first, or PM me to ask if I was aware of the issue, which I would have happily clarified.

Incorrect information, no matter how good intentioned does nobody any good. You are now saying it was aimed at those taking part, but previously stated it was aimed at branches in general.

I think it's something that people on here should bear in mind in future.

In which way is the information incorrect? The Local Authority has issued a registration requirement.
