Hi
I'm moving to Menorca this year, halfway through DL training and want to finish it.
There is no BSAC schools on Menorca but alot of BSAC instructors seem to work out there, now I believe that they can sign off individual lessons but can they sign off a grade or would I need to send my training book to BSAC headquarters for verification?
Any help or advice greatfully recieved
Cheers

Are you in a club now, or BSAC direct? As long as you're in a club, your training has to go through your DO. Talk to them before you leave, see what they think about it, how they'd recommend you proceed.
The problem with having BSAC instructors is that they can't really operate independently - BSAC isn't intended to support "a man in a van" kind of instructing, but rather to be done within the confines of a club environment, or at least somewhere where there is the support network behind that individual instructor.
So if you're in a club, talk to your DO. If you're BSAC Direct, then the advice will be a bit different, but I don't know exactly how that works...

Ah right, I don't know how training works with BSAC Direct. Sure someone else will be along soon with the answer! :)

Why not get in lots of diving (and certify with another agency if necessary) while you are out there. Then, when you come back you will be in good shape to jump through all the hoops to get a BSAC certification with a branch. I did this many years ago and went from novice to advanced instructor within the year (but I did 500 dives before I became a BSAC novice.)!
