I am relatively new to scuba diving, and need some advice about suits. So far, I have mainy dived in the UK using a 'Beaver Icelandic ultra' semidry suit. This has kept me mostly warm, except around the neck. (water has rushed in whenever I turn my head!!) For this reason, I have been looking at the 'scubapro scotia' and the ' SEAC S-Dry - PROFLEX500 ' as these seem to have dry zips and proper neck seals. Does anyone have any experience with these suits? Also, as they have neck seals, and dry zips, do they need to have the glove tight fitting of other wetsuits?
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Peter

A lot of people will tell you to get a drysuit. So I'll start that process...
For UK diving a drysuit is best. But if you really want a semi (why??) then yes the better the seals the better it works.

Particularly if you're going for something with dry zips etc - easier (and probably no more expensive) to go the whole hog and get a drysuit. Takes a bit of getting used to if you've never used one before, but so much easier to just climb out of it and you're dry and dressed ready for the pub! :D

I tried the icelandic and scotia so similar situation to you.
I bought the scotia (couldnt afford drysuit and rest of scubagear )i liked the drysuit zip and the seals felt good,it also fits me very very well
i will not be diving in the winter though, so maybe in a few yrs ill get a dry but like you im happy with semidry for now.
hope this helps.
