Is everyone out there aware that the RNLI have a free of charge service to help you prioritise your off season boat equipment maintenance programme?
The SEA Check (Safety Equipment Advisory Check) is a free service offered to all who use a boat (though it is aimed primarily at those who use the sea!)

Have a look and see if you'd like to see one of their Advisers at your club!

No, I wasn't aware that they did. I'll ask the Branch D.O. about it. Thanks for the tip!

Sea Check is part of the Sea Safety strategy of the RNLI and has been around for a number of years now. It has evolved a fair bit since, but fundamentally offers FREE advice on Safety Equipment and some practices. It is not there to preach, and is definately not a boat survey or MOT.
Advice is offered one to one, after physically checking your vessel's equipment. The check is conducted by enthusiastic volunteers, some of whom are current or former lifeboat crew, and some also dive.
Anyone or any club with a boat can ask for a check by contacting RNLI Poole on 0845 122 6999 or by typing RNLI Sea Safety online and completing the Online request.
Remember it is done by voluteers, in their own time, at the place where your boat is kept. This can be on the coast or in land. You would be surprised how many boat used on the coast are actually kept inland on driveways.
It is never too late to ask for a Sea Check. Consider it as something to be done as the season closes, so that any recomendations can be implemented during winter refits.
