Hi all,

I was hoping someone could help with a query regarding purchasing wetsuits for myself and my other half.

We are honeymooning in the Maldives next month are were looking to save on hire costs by buying some basic kit for snorkelling/scuba diving and taking it with us. (Logic being that we're likely to want to dive a few times while there over the two weeks and will probably snorkle most days, therefore hire costs will be just as much as buying!)

I was looking at shorty wetsuits by Mares on http://www.sportextreme.com/Se_Shop/Product.Asp?SpecialID=206x20372yeur%2F&Currency=GBP which seem to fit the bill.

Any comments or other suggestions would be most appreciated!

PS- being "fair climate" divers, we are only likely to be diving or snorkelling in warm waters!

If you live within reach of Thurrock in Essex, Merry Hill, Birmingham, Sheffield or Stockport, you might want to have a look at this:

Good quality 3mm wet suits can be had for not a lot of cash. :)

Lidl was also selling suits recently, very cheap, SWMBO bought one, pretty good too.:) Didn't have my size though. :(

If you're looking at 2.5mm shorties, it might be worth giving Fourth Element a look.

Their Thermocline range is much lighter and smaller to pack than a wetsuit, and dries very fast too. My wife & I took some to the Maldives in February, and were never cold. It is however, a bit more expensive ;)
