View Full Version : flight advice after deco chamber treatments / embolism
Scenario: After a spinal embolism a diver has been prescribed ten High Pressure Oxygen treatments in deco chamber abroad. He is keen to fly back home after treatment, but knows he has to wait after last treatment before flying. The question is: how long should he wait after last treatment to be virtually sure of no ill effects from 6 hour flight? He has been given advice ranging from 24 hours to 1 month. Anybody got some advice please?

The obvious thing is to ask the chamber operator/doctor - they are the ones you trust to treat you so surely you trust them to give the correct advice on flying?
Give the DDRC or the LDC (or similar) a call. I believe they field questions like this a lot :)
