So by some way or another it appears that the whaling restrictions will be lifted due to the compliance of several countries which are either land locked or have zero interest in whale meat, rather the dollars rolling in from the Japanese. From the looks of it several of the pro-whaling block countries are ones which profit from diving...

Whichever side of the debate you sit on, the article makes interesting reading.

Well for some time I've been a bit of a "cyber warrior"
There are several campaigns going at the moment, if you feel the need to do something you can try these :http://www.greenpeace.org/international/campaigns/save-our-seas-2/save-the-whales
Or
http://www.savethewhale.org.uk/about.php

Also 6th July is save the whale week.

The whole thing gets me very angry

I really don’t see the point Japan saying drop the laws or we will do it anyway. It doesn’t leave enough room for negotiations.

Perhaps those nations should all read the latest findings of the Woods Hole Institiute.
They appear to have found evidence that whales recognise each other by their own names!! WHOI say this is preliminary evidence.

Enjoy a fascinating read - new released last week.

It is several years since it was proved that Orca have distinguishably different "voices" by which experts can recognise individuals. This would seem to justify WHOI claims.

Another reason to avoid Japanese 4x4s, perhaps?

Democracy sucks doesn't it. Next thing we will discover is that all UK goverments in the last 30 (?) years have got in with less than 50% of the vote.

IIRC Labour got in in the 70s with less actual votes than the Tories.

And then there's George Dubya .................

Why are we losing lives trying to impose democracy on other nations?
