Hi Y'all
Just back from a bimble around Leicestershire’s Favourite quarry, Practicing some DSMB’s before taking off to Plymouth next weekend. On returning home and washing down me kit, I noticed a small tear in said Buoy. Question; is this repairable? With which glue? And where can this be purchased?
Cheers Mick

Depends on the material the buoy is made of, but the cheap "greasy" plastic one of mine is made of seems to repel glues of all types.

As an aside, though, I use said dsmb for practice. Fire it up, put a little tension on the line, wait 30 seconds, and down it comes, ready for another go. Especially useful if you are instructing to a group. Trouble is, the buoy is splitting more and more, so I just sew it up with nylon thread. Looks like Frankenstein's monster and leaks like a sieve, but does the job.:D

Hi Mick,

I'd say it almost certainly is. Is the SMB shiny on the inside? In which case I would use a patch and something like black witch in a similar fashion to how you would repair a tube on a rib. If you make the repair on the inside of the SMB it will probably be better protected in the future.

A chunk of gaffer tape would sort it out.

Aqua-Sure. Forms a lump so apply with care. Seals pretty much anything.
