Hello All,

I am starting to build up my collection of digital underwater photographs and starting to store them on the internet to prevent loss should something go wrong with my computer and ease of access for friends.

However whilst I can store still digital photographs ok I cannot store movie clips, certainly my present provider AOL does not allow movie clips to be stored.

Can someone point me in the direction of a provider that allows both movies and still photos to be stored, ideally without actually having to join them as I am fixed with a contract for the time being or am I being stupid and it is just not possible to store movies on the internet.

Your suggestions would be appreciated.

Regards

Michael,

I suspect they won't let you show the movies because of bandwidth issues.

Have you tried changing their file name or archiveing them (zip/rar) and uploading them to a non public directory? That way they may only be downloaded by yourself when you want the backup.

Hi Michael,

You might want to have a look at www.youtube.com - I'm not sure that it is quite what you're after, but they do offer lots of storage for video, and allow people to stream it to their own machines.

An alternative is to start backing up to an external hard drive, or perhaps a DVD writer?
